Documents Required for LEI Registration

For most businesses, LEI registration needs no complex paperwork — the legal details you already have are usually enough.

For a standard entity

Typically all that's needed is:

  • the official legal name;
  • the enterprise number (BCE);
  • the registered address.

The issuer validates these against the official business registry, so additional supporting documents are often unnecessary.

When extra documents may be needed

In certain cases you may be asked for supporting evidence, such as:

  • a Letter of Authorisation (LoA), where an authorised representative applies;
  • for funds and investment structures, confirmation of the structure;
  • evidence of parent-company relationships (Level 2 data).

A Registration Agent will tell you in advance if anything extra is required.
